Anymaker Map and Locations Without a Fake Atlas
Town, research outpost, bunker, and a launch island about four times the demo — named, not surveyed.
This wiki will not draw you an Anymaker atlas. There is no public pin board of every shed, no surveyed square-kilometer figure, and no room-by-room dungeon map this page will invent. What exists, as of 14 September 2026, is a mix of Steam Next Fest demo notes, later v0.0.27-style updates, and Geometa’s promise that the accessible island at Early Access should be about four times the demo. Steam Early Access is still scheduled for 18 September 2026. The game remains upcoming.
Use this page to name the places and systems that actually showed up: a town, a research outpost, a bunker that rewrote overworld loot, frequency cartridges, thematic loot, and roaming NPC survivors. Then go drive. The bunker as a career spike lives on career bunker. Hunger lives on survival. Launch lists sit on Early Access. Demo chronology sits on demo notes.
Demo island versus the 4x launch island
The public demo ran during Steam Next Fest, 15–22 June 2026, on a smaller island than launch. Players who memorized every fence line from that week are holding perishable knowledge. Geometa’s September note said the accessible map at Early Access is much bigger — they think at least about four times. That is a developer estimate, not a survey stake. Expect more room to strand a truck and more reason to treat a short chassis as your first career vehicle.
Do not treat a YouTube recap, including the one embedded here, as a substitute for the client. Footage compresses distance. A creator’s private labels for hills are not official names. Sandbox at launch is a workshop (daylight, noclip, infinite supply, no enemies), not a stealth map of every town. Career is why a named place matters: loot, hunger, and a way home before fog.
Town, research outpost, bunker
Demo and later notes added locations you should remember as different jobs, not as interchangeable loot rooms.
A town is built-up space: roads, buildings you can take apart, furniture, food, and the kind of clutter that fills inventory if you are greedy. It is also where roaming NPC survivors were described as appearing in built-up areas. A town is not a research outpost. Drive accordingly.
A research outpost is a thematic site. Later demo notes said loot spawned thematically with the location, and that the career start was moved near an appropriate loot theme. That is a pacing change, not a promise this wiki will name a starting farm or a canonical first street. Expect science-adjacent clutter, not a second copy of main street.
The bunker is the career spike. Completing the bunker location in the Next Fest demo caused tier 2 and 3 loot to spawn more widely in the overworld. Underground military and research complexes are the long mystery, not a starter dungeon. Prepare a running vehicle, light, and a base on the surface before you treat stairs as a house. This page will not invent floors, keycards, or boss names. Finish the bunker so the rest of the island becomes worth looting again, then leave.
Frequency cartridges and thematic loot
Direction finders need a frequency cartridge. Unique frequency cartridges in the world point at valuable locations. That is a demo-era system, and it is allowed to change at Early Access. Treat a cartridge as a pointer, not as a collectible checklist this page will number. If you find one, note the theme of the site it wants — town, outpost, industrial edge, underground — and kit the truck for that theme. Do not vacuum every house on the way.
Thematic loot is the other half of that sentence. A research outpost is not a kitchen. A town is not a parts catalog for rotors. Career unlocks come from scavenging; inventory is limited. Take food, wound care, and the next chassis part. Leave the third sofa. Clothing already spawned less in later demo notes, so a wardrobe run is a poor plan.
When boats and helicopters arrive at launch — buoyancy, boat parts, jet engines, rotors — shoreline and ridge sites will stretch these loops. Plan that on boats and helicopters. Do not assume the June island had a marina you missed.
NPC survivors, noise, and a map that feels busy
v0.0.27-style notes described roaming NPC survivors on roads and in built-up areas, fighting for their own survival. The map is not only you and a chassis. Not every figure on a road is loot. NPCs, animals, and zombies were described as reacting to gunshots at longer range, so a loud career fight is a beacon. Difficulty was also described as rising with loot tier. Better finds after the bunker are not a free win.
Survival is still flee by default. Preview exists so you do not mix trailer hills with demo streets. Co-op radio matters more when the island grows; agree a meeting place you can describe without a fan-made pin.
This page will not become a full atlas, a list of unofficial ridge nicknames, or a promise that every demo extra survives unchanged into 18 September. There are no codes. Read Getting Started if you have not picked sandbox versus career, and the roadmap for the year-long “more places” sentence. Then put the compass down and build a short truck that can actually leave town.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Anymaker building, survival, and Early Access.
Is there a complete Anymaker map on this wiki?
No. This page names systems and a few demo-era sites. It will not invent an atlas. Launch is also planned at about four times the demo island, so June street memory is perishable.
What locations showed up in the demo notes?
A town, a research outpost, and the bunker as a career spike. Completing the bunker in Next Fest spawned tier 2 and 3 loot more widely. Details live on career bunker and demo notes.
How do frequency cartridges work?
Direction finders need a frequency cartridge. Unique cartridges point at valuable locations. Treat them as pointers, not as a numbered collectible list this wiki will invent.
Are NPC survivors hostile?
Demo notes described them as roaming roads and built-up areas, fighting for their own survival. Do not assume every figure is loot. Gunshots were said to carry farther to NPCs, animals, and zombies. See survival.
Will the Early Access island match the June demo?
Do not count on it. Geometa described launch as much bigger — on the order of 4×. Confirm the real coastline on Early Access after 18 September 2026.
Where should a career save start looking for loot?
Later demo notes moved the career start near an appropriate loot theme and made loot thematic by location. Kit for the site in front of you. A town is not an outpost.
