Anymaker Co-op Setup
Host and join expectations for shared building, voice, and radio — plus the player-count question we will not fake.
Use this page as a session brief, not as a finished netcode manual. Anymaker’s Steam Early Access date is 18 September 2026. Online co-op is listed. Local split-screen is not. Player count is unconfirmed, and this wiki will not print a number Geometa has not. If you only need the feature map, stay on the co-op hub. If you are about to click Host, keep reading.
Before anyone launches the game
- Same mode. Say sandbox or career in the invite. Sandbox at launch is planned with all parts unlocked, infinite supply, noclip, daylight, and no enemies. Career is hunger, wounds, combat, weather, wildlife, undead, military remnants, and underground facilities. Do not surprise a builder with zombies or a survival group with a noclip tour.
- Same expectations for boats and helicopters. Those systems — buoyancy, boat parts, jet engines, rotors — are Early Access launch items. They are also excellent at separating the party. Keep a land vehicle.
- PCs that actually run it. Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12, published minimum around i5-10400 / Ryzen 5 3600, 8 GB RAM, RX 470 or GTX 970 / 1060. Send the system requirements with the invite.
- A voice plan. In-game voice exists. Discord exists (links hub). Decide which one is primary if a radio dies.
- Family Sharing only if Steam will let both of you play. The store lists it; it is not a magic extra copy for every household.
There are no redeem codes to hand out as party favors.
Host expectations
The host is the person whose world everyone else is about to dent. Act like it.
- Name the save. Career bunker progress and sandbox prototypes do not belong in the same filename soup.
- Park a meeting point: a flat pad, a shore, a town lot, not the middle of a lightning storm. Base building is how that pad gets walls later.
- Declare the first chassis. An ATV or short truck from the vehicle ranks beats a surprise heavy hauler.
- Leave the build checklist on a shared note: frame, wheels, engine, fuel, cooling, electrics, seats, lights, repair kit. If four people weld at once with no list, you get four half-cars.
When the in-game host screen exists, read it. Whatever player cap, privacy toggle, or region ping it shows on 18 September overrules this paragraph.
Join expectations
Joiners are guests with edge tools.
- Spawn, then look before you duplicate a 12-meter beam through the host’s engine.
- Ask before you take the only shotgun. Alpha loot included one; it is not a piñata.
- Carry a repair habit. Tyres can take damage from weapons and impacts in later demo notes. Your joyride is their tow job.
- If you are late, take radio and lights, not the last fuel can.
- Workshop downloads (planned at Early Access launch) go into a test lot, not dropped on the career pad without a warning.
Shared building without a fistfight
The grid is in-world at about 8 cm with diagonals. That is precise enough for two people to desync aesthetically in seconds.
- One owner per major system. Host: frame and engine. Joiner A: electrics and cables. Joiner B: panels and windows. Rotate next session.
- Use the duplicate tool on finished corners, not on experiments.
- Name components with the property tool so “left pump” is not three pumps.
- Logic has a debug, step, and inspect path. If your microcontroller is a black box, it is not co-op-ready. Walk it on microcontrollers. Prime fuel and cooling before you paint the hull.
For keybinds, use controls. For the first hour, use getting started.
Radio and voice etiquette
Radio is a component. Voice is a feature. Neither replaces a plan.
- Test voice in the pad, not after someone is underground.
- Agree a short call set: “stop weld,” “enemy,” “fuel,” “returning.”
- If you split for the career bunker, one person stays with the vehicle. A bunker clear that orphans the truck is a walk home.
- Do not key radio over someone explaining a cable. Building callouts are how you avoid cutting a fuel line.
Combat and loot in a group
Melee is the career default on the weapons ranks. Firearms cost ammo. In a group that means:
- Say who holds the found shotgun.
- Do not mag-dump wildlife for sport while the driver is aligning a trailer.
- Share bunker etiquette: the June 2026 demo made tier 2 and 3 loot more common after finishing that location. That is a progression beat, not a reason to vacuum every crate before friends load in. Play like wounds are a logistics problem.
Unconfirmed, on purpose
Write these on the invite as unknowns:
- Player cap.
- Whether friends can join mid-session after you have already driven 4 km.
- How saves behave if the host crashes.
- Dedicated servers.
- Exact radio range.
When those answers exist in the client, this page should shrink. Until 18 September, over-communicate. A good co-op night looks boring on paper: same mode, same pad, one chassis that starts, radios that click, and nobody stranded in a rotor they could not land.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Anymaker building, survival, and Early Access.
How do I host an Anymaker co-op session?
Wait for the in-game host flow on 18 September 2026. Until then, agree mode, meeting pad, first chassis, and voice app, and send system requirements with the invite.
What player count should I advertise?
None. The cap is unconfirmed. Advertise the session by mode and plan, not by a number this wiki made up.
Can we build the same vehicle together?
Yes in principle: co-op covers building. Split systems (frame, engine, electrics, panels) and use duplicate only on finished corners so two edge tools do not fight.
Should we start in sandbox or career?
Sandbox if the goal is boats, rotors, or Workshop tests with infinite parts. Career if the goal is hunger, loot, and the bunker. Say which one before launch.
Is there local split-screen if we only have one PC?
Not as a listed feature. Online co-op needs separate machines. Family Sharing is listed on Steam but is not split-screen.
Where do we get a Discord invite?
Use the official invite on the links hub. In-game voice still matters once you are in the world; Discord is the fallback and the community channel.
