Anymaker Vehicle Tier List
Chassis archetypes graded S–C for career loot runs versus sandbox experiments. Boats and helicopters stay uncertain until Early Access.
This page ranks chassis archetypes, not named Workshop files and not a live PvP ladder. Anymaker is still heading into Steam Early Access on 18 September 2026. Letters below come from alpha and demo driving plus Geometa’s public launch notes. They will move the first week players actually put boats and helicopters on the water and in the air.
Read this next to the tier list hub, parts ranks, and weapons ranks. A hull without an engine is scenery. If you have not laid a frame yet, start with vehicle building and the build checklist.
Career versus sandbox
Career still spends unlocks. You scavenge, you repair, you care whether a rollover costs a day’s loot. Sandbox at Early Access launch is planned with all parts unlocked, infinite supply, noclip, daylight, and no enemies. That split is why the same six-wheel hauler is C in career and A in sandbox.
Geometa also said the Early Access island should be about four times the demo map, with boat parts, buoyancy, jet engines, and rotors. Anything that needs those systems gets a wider error bar than a short truck you already drove in the demo. Scale: S first pick, A after a runner exists, B high ceiling or uncertainty, C not a first career vehicle. No horsepower numbers or fake model names.
ATV / side-by-side — Career S, Sandbox A
A short wheelbase, four (or a few more) wheels, seats close to the engine, and almost no bodywork is the career default. You can push it out of a ditch. You can see the cables. You can replace a wheel without emptying a bunker. On an island that still has hunger, wounds, weather, wildlife, undead, and military remnants, time-to-restart beats cargo volume.
In sandbox the same chassis is still fun, but you are no longer punished for going bigger, so it drops to A. Use it as a test mule for steering geometry before you clone the layout onto a truck.
Short truck — Career A, Sandbox S
A cab, a short bed, and room for a fuel can plus a repair kit is the career workhorse after you have a runner. It carries bunker loot, panels, and a spare wheel. It is also the first shape that teaches you why electrics, fluids, and a seat that actually faces forward matter. Fail the engines and wiring pass and this thing is a shed with tires.
Sandbox loves the short truck because infinite parts let you iterate bodywork, lights, and logic without looting a town first. It is the best teaching chassis for the edge, panel, and cable tools.
Boat hull — Career B, Sandbox S (uncertain until Early Access)
Geometa’s launch note is clear: Early Access adds buoyancy simulation and boat parts. The demo loop did not make marine hulls the daily driver, so we will not pretend we already know which keel wins. Career grade is B because water is extra failure: leaks, cold, weather, and a repair job you cannot walk home from. Sandbox grade is S because infinite supply plus noclip is how you learn displacement without drowning a save.
Until you have driven a hull after 18 September, treat every boat clip as a sketch. Pair this letter with the boats and helicopters guide and keep a land runner above the tide line.
Rotor craft — Career B, Sandbox S (uncertain until Early Access)
Jet engines and rotors are also on the Early Access list. Alpha and demo play taught ground vehicles; they did not give this wiki a trustworthy helicopter meta. Career B means “beautiful, expensive, and easy to scatter across a hillside.” Sandbox S means “the right place to learn collective, tail authority, and why a microcontroller with debug and step exists.”
Do not invent lift tables. If your first career hour is a helicopter, you are choosing spectacle over a food run. Learn microcontrollers in sandbox first.
Heavy base-hauler — Career C, Sandbox A
Long wheelbase, many axles, a box that could move a base: this is how players get stuck. Career C is not an insult to the idea. It is a warning that unlocks, fuel, cooling, and tire damage (already a thing in later demo builds) tax a rolling warehouse. Build a base that does not need to move every afternoon, then add a hauler when you have spare engines.
Sandbox A is the honest upgrade: infinite parts let you study weight and cable runs at full size. Duplicate a working short truck drivetrain instead of inventing a new one at bus length.
How to use the letters on day one
- Career: ATV or side-by-side until you can reach a bunker without walking.
- Career: short truck when you can fill a bed with tier 2 and 3 loot.
- Sandbox: boat or rotor after a land chassis starts on the first try.
- Either mode: never skip the build checklist because a letter is not a substitute for fuel, cooling, and a seat.
Cross-check survival if you think a hauler will outrun weather, and the Early Access launch page for island size and Workshop. Community uploads will spawn sculptures that still fail a career food run. Re-grade after you have personally grounded a hull and a rotor. Until then, this list is a queue, not a gospel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Anymaker building, survival, and Early Access.
Why is the ATV S in career but only A in sandbox?
Career punishes recovery time. A small chassis is easy to right, repair, and restock. Sandbox removes enemies, daylight limits, and part scarcity, so larger teaching vehicles outrank it.
Are boats and helicopters actually in the demo?
Buoyancy, boat parts, jet engines, and rotors are listed for Early Access launch, not as the demo's daily loop. Their letters stay wide until players fly and float after 18 September 2026.
Should I start career in a heavy hauler?
No. Grade C means it is a second project. Unlock a runner, learn repairs, then grow the wheelbase once fuel and tires are not a crisis.
Will Workshop creations change this list?
Yes. Workshop support is planned at Early Access launch. Download them in sandbox first; a popular upload can still be a career trap.
Do you rank specific named vehicles?
No. This page ranks jobs: runner, cargo, marine, rotor, hauler. Named files belong on Workshop after launch, not in a pre-release letter chart.
Where do I learn to actually build the chassis I picked?
Use vehicle building, boats and helicopters for marine and rotor plans, and the build checklist before you drive off the pad.
