Anymaker System Requirements
The Steam minimum and recommended lists for Windows, plus storage, network, and the unknown Steam Deck line.
Anymaker is a Windows-only Steam build as published: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, DirectX 12, broadband, and 20 GB free. Early Access is scheduled for 18 September 2026. These numbers are the store table, not a benchmark we ran, and not a promise about laptops with “GTX 970-like” stickers. If your PC misses the minimum, wait, upgrade, or use Family Sharing on a machine that actually qualifies.
Pair this page with the build checklist so a good GPU is not wasted on a truck with no battery. The tools hub is the parent. For how the game feels to play, stay in guides.
Minimum (official)
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10 / 11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 470, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / 1060
- DirectX: 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 20 GB available space
Steam also notes that a 64-bit processor and operating system are required. There is no 32-bit path in the table.
Recommended (official)
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10 / 11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-11600 / AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
- DirectX: 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 20 GB available space
Read recommended as the comfortable box for a bigger island, weather, co-op, boats, and rotors, not as a brag sheet. Launch sandbox is still a physics toy. Launch career still draws wildlife, undead, military remnants, and underground complexes. 8 GB and a 970-class GPU is the floor Geometa is willing to publish; 16 GB and a 3060 / 6600 XT class is the “please.”
DirectX 12 and why it matters
Both columns say DirectX 12. A machine that only offers an older feature level is not a “maybe.” Check the GPU driver date before 18 September. Laptop mux switches and “Intel + NVIDIA” hybrids fail this kind of game when the session lands on the wrong adapter. Force the discrete GPU for Steam before you file a bug.
This wiki will not invent graphics presets. If the launch client exposes them, start on a preset that matches your column (minimum vs recommended) and change one slider at a time. Physics builders punish CPU as much as GPU once a chassis and a base share a tile.
Network
Broadband is on the table because online co-op is a listed mode, and because Steam Workshop is promised at Early Access launch. Single-player still talks to Steam for auth, Workshop, and news. A flaky connection is a bad host. Send this page with the co-op setup brief.
Storage
20 GB is the published free-space line, not “install is exactly 20.” Leave extra room for Workshop uploads, screenshots, and the usual Windows reserve. An SSD is not in the Steam table; this wiki will not require one as a fake spec. If you have a choice, put the install on the faster disk — building games stream a lot of world once the island is ~4× the demo.
Steam Deck and other handhelds
Steam lists Steam Deck compatibility as unknown. That is the whole official sentence. Unknown is not Verified, not Playable, not Unsupported. Do not buy a Deck dock on this wiki’s say-so. Proton / Linux is not in the published requirements. The store platform line is Windows.
Controllers: the feature list includes keyboard and mouse or gamepad. Full controller support is on the Steam feature strip. That still does not make a handheld verified. Test on a Windows box first.
Laptops, handheld PCs, and “close enough” GPUs
- A mobile 1060 is not automatically a desktop 1060. Thermals and power limits matter when you weld in rain at night.
- 8 GB RAM with Windows plus Chrome plus Discord plus Anymaker is how people believe the game “needs 16 anyway.” Close the browser.
- Integrated graphics are not in either column. Do not treat them as an RX 470.
- Family Sharing does not change the GPU.
If you are under the CPU line, you may still boot, then watch a Workshop creation turn into a slideshow. Download fancy files after a stock short truck is smooth — see Early Access.
How this interacts with launch features
Early Access adds boats, helicopters, a larger island, and Workshop. All four are load. Buoyancy and rotors are extra simulation. A bigger map is extra streaming. Other people’s creations are extra parts on screen. The recommended column is how you buy margin for those. The minimum column is how you buy a ticket to a short career runner from the vehicle ranks.
Geometa may change this table after 18 September. Hardware bars can move during the planned ~1 year Early Access window. Re-read the Steam page when they do.
Pre-flight for 18 September
- Confirm 64-bit Win10/11, DX12, 20 GB free.
- Update GPU drivers.
- Plug in (laptops).
- Set Steam to the discrete GPU if you have two.
- Bookmark getting started and this page.
- If you host, paste the minimum list into the invite.
You do not need a data-center PC to weld an ATV. You do need the published floor. Meet it, then spend your worry on fuel lines, not on whether DirectX 12 was a suggestion.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Anymaker building, survival, and Early Access.
What is the Anymaker minimum GPU?
AMD Radeon RX 470 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / 1060, with DirectX 12, according to the Steam table.
How much RAM do I need?
8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended. Close extra browsers if you are on the 8 GB line.
Does Anymaker run on Steam Deck?
Unknown. Steam does not list a Verified or Playable rating. This wiki will not invent one.
Is Linux or macOS supported?
The published requirements are 64-bit Windows 10 / 11 only. Do not treat other operating systems as official.
Why does a building game need broadband?
Online co-op is a listed mode, Workshop is planned at launch, and Steam still authenticates the client. See co-op setup if you are hosting.
Will these specs change after Early Access?
They can. The store table is the source. Re-check it when Geometa ships larger worlds or heavier tools during the planned ~1 year Early Access window.
